Markarfljot and Hattafell

Markarfljót is a river rising in the Icelandic Highlands in Fjallabak Nature Preserve, crossing the south of Iceland and flowing into the Atlantic Ocean near famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Along its way it eroded a deep canyon into the volcanic soils, the fantastic Markarfljotgljufur displayed at this image with the mountain Hattafell in the background.
