The Splendor of Autumn

With the beginning of the fall season in late September the nights at the Elbe Sandstone Mountains slowly start getting longer and colder. When sunlight wanes, low temperatures find their way into the canyons and paint the forests with fire. The sandstone spires definitely look great year-round, but never as good as when surrounded by vibrant colored leaves and the very special golden glow.

This fall we did multiple trips to Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland near our hometown. Again we weren't that lucky when it comes to shooting some foggy landscapes (there was either too much fog or not enough fog), but nevertheless we also had some nice sunsets by mid October such as the one shown here as this month's image. We will be adding a couple more photos to our gallery from the Elbe Sandstone Mountains during the next weeks, so please stay tuned!

We are often contacted by people asking us about tours. Currently we do not offer any, but if you are interested in joining a guided hike at Bohemian Switzerland or a winter walk near the Bastei, we can recommend the local guide "Vitek" from Northern Hikes.
