Neon Green Moss at the Highlands in Iceland

Neon green moss in the Icelandic Highlands

We know, last month's image was all about neon green moss, nevertheless here is one more of those surreal places well hidden in the Icelandic Highlands that we visited in September and that we loved so much. We wish images could transmit the solitude and the incredible silence that surrounds you while hiking in the Icelandic Highlands; unfortunately they can't. But at least images can give you a sense of the remoteness and how surreal and colourful volcanic landscapes can be. Some of the smaller streams just look like someone had adorned their sides with a bright neon marker. It's pure color madness! And when storms starts rolling in and the sun softly hits thoses neon colored mosses you can't help but stand in wonder. There is always a lot of drama in the sky and the scenery can change so quickly! Sun light, drizzle, rain, fog, snowflakes - all in such a short timeframe! A photographer's paradise and one of the reasons we love spending so much time in the Icelandic Highlands!
